Peshawar Plans New Gems Processing and Export Center


Peshawar, A delegation from the Sarafa Zargran Gems and Jewelry Traders and Exporters Association met with Abdul Karim Tordhir, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Industries, Crafts, and Technical Education, to discuss the establishment of a new Gems Processing and Export Center in Peshawar. This initiative aims to bolster the regional gem and jewelry industry and enhance economic development through increased exports and job creation.



According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tordhir assured the delegation that the proposed center would promote the growth of the gem sector in the province by incorporating modern technologies and practices. He highlighted Peshawar’s strategic importance in the trade of precious stones within the region and emphasized that the establishment of the center would be a significant milestone for the economic development of the country and the province. The center is expected to create thousands of jobs and substantially increase revenue from gem exports, further developing this sector as a crucial source of economic growth for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
