Karachi: Pakistan played a pivotal role in facilitating a recent ceasefire between the United States and Iran, according to Karamullah Waqasi, spokesperson to the Mayor of Karachi and Parliamentary Leader of Pakistan People’s Party in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. Waqasi stated that Pakistan’s actions were instrumental in averting a potential conflict, earning international commendation.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Waqasi emphasized that Pakistan’s diplomatic strategy focused on reducing regional tensions and promoting peace. He credited Pakistan’s leadership with displaying significant diplomatic skill and foresight in mediating between the two nations. Waqasi noted that Pakistan’s approach has bolstered its image as a responsible global actor committed to peace and stability.
Waqasi also acknowledged the contributions of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Foreign Office, and other institutions in these efforts.
