Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK Meets Finance Minister to Enhance Economic Cooperation


Islamabad: Pakistan’s newly appointed High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mr. Tipu Usman, met with the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, to discuss enhancing economic cooperation between Pakistan and the UK. The meeting focused on expanding collaboration in various sectors including trade, investment, and financial services.



According to Press Information Department, the Finance Minister welcomed the High Commissioner and expressed confidence in his potential to advance Pakistan’s economic diplomacy in the UK. Discussions included leveraging London’s financial services to support Pakistan’s objectives in international capital markets and digital finance. Both parties highlighted the importance of the Pakistani diaspora in strengthening economic ties through remittances and investments.



The meeting also explored opportunities for cooperation in debt management and capital market development, with a focus on engaging UK-based institutional investors. Senator Aurangzeb emphasized the government’s commitment to macroeconomic stability and improved business environments, while the High Commissioner reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to a robust economic partnership with the UK.
