Islamabad, Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has stated that international law does not recognize the unilateral and illegal actions taken by India on August 5, 2019, concerning Jammu and Kashmir. He asserted that the recent judicial endorsement of these actions by the Indian Supreme Court holds no legal standing.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Jilani, in a post on a social media platform, emphasized that the Kashmiri people possess an inalienable right to self-determination, as outlined in the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
This statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Minister comes in response to the Indian Supreme Court’s ruling, reiterating Pakistan’s stance on the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir and its non-recognition of India’s unilateral decisions in the region.
