ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is committed to expanding and deepening its political, economic, and cultural relations with African countries under its Engage Africa Policy, according to Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar. Speaking at the Happy Africa Day ceremony in Islamabad, Tarar emphasized Africa’s role as a central pillar in Pakistan’s foreign policy strategy.

According to Radio Pakistan, Tarar highlighted that Pakistan has broadened its diplomatic network across Africa in recent years, viewing the continent not only as a diplomatic partner but also as an integral component of its broader outreach. The cooperation between Pakistan and African countries spans diverse sectors, including trade, education, capacity building, health, and defense, with the goal of achieving mutual benefit and shared prosperity.

Tarar reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to enhancing collaboration in sectors that promote a positive image of both Africa and Pakistan. He proposed the creation of a joint platform focused on promoting African culture, music, heritage, traditions, and values, stressing the importance of cultural exchanges between Pakistan and African nations.

The minister concluded by affirming the strong and enduring friendship between Pakistan and Africa.
