Islamabad: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defence convened at the Parliament House, extending congratulations to the nation and its Armed Forces for the commemorations of the historic victories of Marka-e-Haq and Bunyan-ul-Marsoos. These achievements were highlighted as pivotal in enhancing Pakistan’s defence capabilities and raising the nation’s international stature. Additionally, the Committee recommended the passage of a significant legislative reform aimed at modernizing the country’s aviation infrastructure.
According to the National Assembly of Pakistan, the Committee, chaired by Mr. Fateh Ullah Khan, emphasized the strategic importance of these victories, crediting them with reinforcing Pakistan’s defence credentials. The Committee also lauded the diplomatic efforts of the Prime Minister and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in mediating between the United States and Iran, which successfully prevented a potential global conflict and contributed to international peace.
The meeting paid tribute to the martyrs of the Armed Forces, recognizing their sacrifice as foundational to national security. Special prayers were offered for their families, acknowledging their continued contribution to national resilience.
In legislative matters, the Committee unanimously recommended the passage of “The Pakistan Airports Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2026,” highlighting its potential to modernize aviation infrastructure and bolster economic development. The session was attended by key members of the National Assembly and senior officials from various ministries.
