Islamabad, in a notable diplomatic engagement, Iraqi Member of Parliament, Abdul Hadi Al-Hasnawi, hosted a warm reception for the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, and his delegation in Najaf.
According to Senate of Pakistan, MP Al-Hasnawi expressed his high regard for Pakistan, considering it akin to a second home for the Iraqi people. He particularly lauded Pakistan’s achievement as the first and only Muslim country to attain nuclear power status, an accomplishment greatly respected in Iraq.
During the event, Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani highlighted the historical and religious importance of Najaf in Islamic history and its special significance to Pakistani Muslims. The visit was seen as a gesture that reinforces the cultural and religious bonds shared between Pakistan and Iraq.
The reception also served as a platform for bilateral discussions, with Senators Dilawar Khan, Faisal Saleem Rehman, and Mohammad Abdul Qadir accompanying Chairman Senate. The discussions focused on strengthening ties and exploring new areas of cooperation between the two countries.
