Islamabad, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar of Pakistan has expressed serious concern over the potential trans-regional implications of the ongoing Gaza conflict. He emphasized the need for increased engagement with Western capitals, particularly Washington and London, to communicate the destabilizing effects of the war and to advocate for an immediate cessation of violence.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in an interview with Arab News, Prime Minister Kakar labeled Israel’s assault on Gaza as genocide and criticized Israel’s justification of its actions as a defense right. He underscored the urgency of addressing the conflict, stating that it poses a threat beyond the immediate region. The Prime Minister announced his plans to attend an extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Riyadh on Sunday to discuss the situation in Palestine.
In his statements, Prime Minister Kakar also reflected on the broader challenges facing Muslim nations, including the need for advancements in science, technology, and defense. He critiqued the governance structures within Muslim countries, indicating that their issues extend beyond the Palestinian conflict.
