Cape Town: A Pakistani parliamentary delegation is actively participating in the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Cape Town, South Africa. The delegation, led by Ms. Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate and Ambassador to the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference, engaged in discussions with international parliamentary representatives to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation and address mutual interests.

According to Senate of Pakistan, Ms. Misbah Khar met with representatives from the Global Parliamentary Water Network to discuss critical issues such as water security, sustainable water management, and climate resilience. The discussions emphasized the role of parliaments in tackling emerging water-related challenges, effective water conservation, and sustainable utilization of water resources. Participants shared experiences and best practices in water management and considered opportunities for parliamentary cooperation in addressing these challenges.

In another session, Ms. Khar engaged with an international parliamentary delegation to deliberate on parliamentary cooperation, bilateral relations, and matters of mutual interest. The discussions highlighted the significance of regular parliamentary exchanges and institutional engagement to bolster relations among parliamentary bodies.
