Pakistani Chief Justice Visits Azerbaijan for Cultural and Judicial Engagement

Islamabad: The Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan, Mr. Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, scheduled from October 19 to 24, 2026. This follows the Court’s recent grant of observer status by the Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of the Turkic World (TÜRK-AY) in July 2026. The visit includes participation in international meetings and specially arranged programmes.

According to Press Information Department, the second and third days of the visit featured informational and cultural activities designed to introduce the Chief Justice and judicial delegations to Azerbaijan’s historical and national heritage. Participants in these programmes include senior judicial officials from Pakistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Cyprus, along with Mr. Muhammad Hafeez Ullah Khan, the Registrar of the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan.

On October 20, 2026, the delegation toured the Heydar Aliyev Centre in Baku, exploring Azerbaijan’s modern architecture and cultural identity. The itinerary also included visits to the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and the Museum Restaurant, providing insights into local traditions.

The following day, the delegations visited the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art to view a collection of fine art and historical exhibits. In the evening, Pakistan’s diplomatic representative in Azerbaijan, His Excellency Mr. Qasim Mohiuddin, hosted a dinner in honor of the Chief Justice, who left remarks in the Embassy’s Visitors’ Book.

The ongoing visit aims to deepen understanding of Azerbaijan’s cultural and civilizational heritage among judicial delegations while promoting mutual cooperation and friendly relations.
