Islamabad: Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has commended Pakistan for its role in promoting peace within the region, while expressing a commitment to enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries. During a meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, President Muizzu emphasized the strong connection between the people of the Maldives and Pakistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting, held in Islamabad, focused on the potential for stronger parliamentary and economic ties. President Muizzu acknowledged the importance of Pakistan’s efforts in fostering regional peace and expressed a desire to build on the existing relationship. In response, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted the significance of parliamentary diplomacy as a means to bolster relations among countries in the region, underscoring the mutual benefits of enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and the Maldives.
