New York: Pakistan has called for measures to protect Syria from destabilizing factors as the nation progresses toward recovery and stabilization.
According to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar, addressed the UN Security Council, stressing the importance of advancing a Syrian-led and Syrian-owned political process. He highlighted that the completion of institutional arrangements, including legislative structures, is crucial for achieving long-term stability and legitimacy in Syria.
Ambassador Iftikhar reiterated Pakistan’s stance on Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He called for Israel to vacate the illegal occupation of the Syrian Golan and stated that any actions altering the status of the area of separation are unacceptable.
