Islamabad Police Apprehend Motorcycle Robbery Gang in Major Operation

ISLAMABAD: In a significant breakthrough against crime in the federal capital, the Islamabad Police have successfully apprehended a three-member gang involved in motorcycle robberies. The operation was carried out by the Anti-Robbery and Dacoity Unit (ADRU) under the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrested individuals, including the gang leader, were involved in a series of armed street robberies, primarily targeting motorcycles and mobile phones. The operation led to the recovery of seven stolen motorcycles, valuable mobile phones, and weapons with ammunition used in the crimes. The gang has been linked to over 10 cases registered at Police Station Humak and Police Station Industrial Area.

The gang leader, identified as Ali Asghar, is a citizen of Afghanistan. The other members of the gang are Haider Ali and Hussain. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, emphasized the ongoing large-scale actions against organized crime groups. He reiterated that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains a top priority for the Islamabad Police.
