Pakistan Urges Immediate Gaza Ceasefire at OIC Meeting

New York: Pakistan has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, emphasizing its commitment to working with member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address shared concerns and interests of the Muslim community.

Addressing the OIC Ambassadorial meeting in New York, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, reiterated the country’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. Ahmad highlighted the necessity for the immediate and full implementation of a ceasefire in Gaza.

He also called for the lifting of the blockade and ensuring unimpeded humanitarian access throughout the Gaza Strip. Furthermore, Ahmad stressed the need to end forced displacement and colonization, particularly in the West Bank.

Pakistan’s stance underscores its dedication to collaborating with OIC nations in pursuit of peace and stability in the region, advocating for the rights and welfare of the Palestinian people.
