Islamabad: The Pakistan-Tanzania Parliamentary Friendship Group held its inaugural meeting, led by Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, to discuss strengthening economic and trade relations. The session included briefings from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Commerce.

The meeting gathered several Members of the National Assembly, including Khurram Munawar Manj, Ahmad Raza Maneka, Muhammad Khan Daha, Muhammad Shaharyar Khan Mahar, Mian Khan Bugti, and Muhammad Saad Ullah, who participated virtually.

Discussions focused on fostering economic ties and the exchange of parliamentary delegations between the two nations. Malik Shakir Bashir Awan highlighted the significance of the comprehensive presentation and the ongoing efforts to position Tanzania as a key trade and investment partner.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Pakistan faces no direct competition from Tanzania in the sports and surgical instrument sectors. The group reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and trade cooperation.
