Pakistan Successfully Launches Indigenous EO-3 Satellite from China


Islamabad: Pakistan has achieved a significant milestone in its space exploration efforts with the successful launch of its indigenous Electro-Optical Satellite (EO-3) from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in China. The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) announced the launch, marking a pivotal step in the country’s journey toward self-reliance and advancement in technology.



According to Radio Pakistan, the EO-3 satellite is expected to provide valuable imaging data that will support urban planning, disaster management, food security, and environmental protection. The satellite is designed to function as an integrated Earth Observation System, aligning with national priorities across various sectors and contributing to sustainable socio-economic development.



Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his appreciation for the professional dedication of SUPARCO’s engineers and scientists on this occasion. He also recognized the steadfast support of China, referring to it as Pakistan’s all-weather friend in the space domain.



Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also commended SUPARCO’s technical expertise and commitment. He characterized the successful launch as indicative of Pakistan’s advancing scientific capabilities and reaffirmed the government’s determination to enhance the country’s presence in the space sector.
