Karachi: The investor base at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has reached an unprecedented level, with 681,965 investors now participating in the market. This milestone reflects an increasing public engagement in Pakistan’s capital markets.
According to Radio Pakistan, Finance Minister’s Advisor Khurram Schehzad announced that the PSX saw a record monthly addition of 25,747 investors in October this year, marking a 66 percent increase compared to the same period last year. In a statement shared on social media, Schehzad noted that during the first ten months of 2026, the stock market attracted 218,894 new investors, surpassing the total additions recorded over the previous four years combined.
Schehzad also highlighted that the total investor base has seen a 56 percent year-on-year increase. Notably, approximately 85 percent of the new investors are from Generation Z and Millennials, indicating a heightened interest among younger demographics in the country’s capital markets. He attributed the surge in investor participation to growing confidence in economic stabilization, improving macroeconomic fundamentals, and the government’s policy direction.
