ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has dismissed a recent statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs as “baseless” and “unwarranted,” concerning Pakistan’s actions against terrorist infrastructure in Afghanistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi addressed media inquiries and criticized India’s statement. Andrabi highlighted India’s alleged support of terrorism directed at Pakistan from Afghan territory and called India’s statement hypocritical and duplicitous.

The spokesperson further accused India of exploiting Islamophobia for domestic political gain and criticized its alleged support for actions against Muslims both within India and in other regions. Andrabi also pointed to India’s historical actions that he claims undermined the sovereignty and territorial integrity of neighboring countries, suggesting that India’s comments on Pakistan’s actions are inappropriate.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office urged India to stop supporting terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil, referencing groups listed under the United Nations Security Council sanctions list. Andrabi emphasized that India should not criticize Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts while allegedly engaging in activities that violate international principles and UN resolutions, particularly concerning Kashmir.
