Islamabad: Pakistan has firmly rejected claims by India regarding damage to a Hindu temple in Adda Siraj, Narowal, attributing the incident to natural causes. The Pakistani government has criticized India’s assertions as politically motivated and misleading.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan’s Spokesperson, Mr. Sajjad Haider Khan, refuted the claims made by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. He stated that the damage to the temple was caused by torrential rains on July 21, 2026, and not by any deliberate act. Local authorities have reportedly assessed the damage and initiated restoration efforts.

Mr. Khan accused India of distorting facts to divert attention from its own track record regarding minority rights. He emphasized that such claims by India cannot overshadow what he described as India’s systematic persecution of minorities and attacks on their places of worship. The statement urged the international community to hold Indian leadership accountable for its treatment of minority communities, including Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians.
