Islamabad: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan has firmly rejected accusations made by the Afghan Taliban regime, which claimed that Pakistan was involved in alleged violence in Nuristan. In a statement released on a social media platform, the Ministry dismissed these claims as unfounded and lacking evidence.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry’s statement emphasized that Pakistan denies any involvement by its security forces or intelligence agencies in internal conflicts within Nuristan or elsewhere in Afghanistan. Furthermore, the Ministry refuted accusations of recruiting, training, or facilitating groups such as Daesh or any other terrorist organizations operating in the region. The statement highlighted the absence of any proof, including identities, documents, communications, or forensic evidence, to support the allegations against Pakistan.

The Ministry criticized a video circulating on social media, purportedly supporting the claims, as staged, showing unarmed individuals who appeared unequipped and suggesting that it was a pre-planned recording by the Afghan Taliban regime. The Ministry noted that the presence of terrorist groups within Afghanistan is well-documented by international organizations, including the United Nations, and contended that attempts to blame Pakistan do not change the reality of these groups finding refuge within Afghan borders.

The Ministry further remarked on the irony of the Afghan Taliban’s allegations, given the ongoing threat posed to Pakistan by terrorist organizations operating from Afghanistan. It urged the Taliban regime to address its internal security issues and fulfill its promise to prevent Afghan soil from being used for terrorism against Pakistan or any other country, rather than deflecting responsibility through unfounded accusations. The statement also criticized the Taliban regime for its handling of internal dissent and the oppression of women, children, and minorities.
