New York: Pakistan has reiterated its support for the Palestinian people’s pursuit of dignity, justice, and self-determination. This statement was made by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, during the UN Security Council’s monthly briefing on the Middle East situation.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ahmad called for Israel to cease all unlawful measures that alter the legal, geographic, and demographic composition of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. He emphasized the need for an end to illegal settlement expansion, settler violence, annexation measures, and the forced displacement of Palestinians, in accordance with Security Council resolutions.

The Ambassador highlighted the importance of implementing the Gaza Peace Plan and Resolution 2803, starting with a fully enforced and properly verified ceasefire. Ahmad remarked that achieving a just and comprehensive peace for the region’s people requires adherence to UN Security Council resolutions and international legitimacy. He asserted that peace is contingent upon the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State on pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds al Sharif as its capital.
