ISLAMABAD, Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, the Prime Minister’s Special Representative, has strongly advocated for the establishment of a viable, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. This statement was made during a press conference held in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ashrafi emphasized that the disputes of Kashmir and Palestine are not just regional conflicts but also significant human rights issues that concern the Muslim world. He labeled Israel as an aggressor and called upon the international community to hold Israel accountable for its alleged war crimes.
Further discussing Pakistan’s position on the Palestine issue, Ashrafi clarified that Pakistan does not maintain diplomatic relations with Israel and stands firmly with the innocent people of Palestine. He also highlighted Pakistan’s recent economic agreements with the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, interpreting these as signs of trust and support from these Islamic countries towards Pakistan. This alignment with key Islamic nations reflects Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to regional and international cooperation on critical issues, including the situation in Palestine.
