ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people in their pursuit of self-determination remains a cornerstone of its national policy, stated Senator Dr. Musadik Malik, Federal Minister for Climate Change & Environmental Coordination, in a message marking Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, or Kashmir Exploitation Day.

According to Press Information Department, Senator Malik condemned India’s actions on August 5, 2019, which annulled the special constitutional status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He described these actions as violations of the United Nations Charter, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and international law. The minister pledged continued political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people at international forums.

Senator Malik called on the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and the global community to ensure the protection of the Kashmiri people’s fundamental rights and the implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions. He emphasized the necessity of a just and peaceful resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute for peace and stability in South Asia.

In his message, Senator Malik highlighted Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir as a reminder of the international community’s duty to uphold justice and human dignity. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to raising the Kashmir issue at all platforms until the Kashmiris can exercise their right to self-determination.

Senator Malik concluded by honoring the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, reiterating Pakistan’s solidarity with them and its support for their struggle for justice and peace.
