Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Kashmiri Self-Determination, Says Senate Chairman

Islamabad: Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, as Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani highlighted the significance of this commitment in a message on Youm-e-Ilhaq-e-Pakistan. The event, observed on July 19, underscores the enduring bond between the people of Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Senate of Pakistan, Gilani emphasized that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains an internationally recognized issue. He called for a peaceful resolution in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, noting that this is crucial for peace and stability in South Asia. He urged the international community to acknowledge the human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to support efforts to ensure the realization of the Kashmiri people’s rights.

Gilani reaffirmed Pakistan’s Parliament’s consistent support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, pledging to continue raising their concerns at various parliamentary forums. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri cause, emphasizing the importance of honoring their sacrifices for freedom and justice.
