Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Ties with Türkiye

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, emphasized the nation’s dedication to reinforcing its enduring relationship with Türkiye, citing a shared history of mutual support and strong people-to-people connections. The announcement was made at a ceremony commemorating the 10th anniversary of Türkiye’s Democracy and National Unity Day.

According to Radio Pakistan, Tarar paid homage to the 250 individuals who lost their lives defending Türkiye’s democracy and expressed solidarity with their families. He stated that the sacrifices of these martyrs serve as an inspiration for nations to face challenges with resilience. Tarar also acknowledged Türkiye’s significant progress in economic and defense sectors under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s leadership.

During his address, Tarar highlighted the deep fraternal ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, which have been strengthened over time. He noted the mutual support both countries have provided each other in challenging times, emphasizing Pakistan’s backing of Türkiye’s stance on international matters and Türkiye’s advocacy for Pakistan regarding the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Tarar expressed appreciation to the Turkish leadership for its continued support and warm reception of Pakistanis visiting Türkiye. He affirmed the commitment to furthering the bilateral friendship and working collaboratively towards new achievements in progress and prosperity.
