Pakistan Ramps Up Humanitarian Aid to Gaza and Lebanon with Latest Consignments

Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan, through its National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has dispatched the 15th and 16th consignments of humanitarian aid to the war-affected regions of Gaza and Lebanon. The shipments, which include essential winterized tents and blankets, were sent via road convoys from Islamabad to Amman and Beirut, respectively, in a continued effort to provide relief to the populations suffering due to ongoing conflicts.

According to Press Information Department, the latest humanitarian effort involves sending 100 tons of aid in each convoy to meet the urgent needs of the war-impacted communities. To date, Pakistan has dispatched a total of 1,598 tons of relief items to these regions. The send-off ceremony at Islamabad International Airport saw the participation of notable figures including MNA Malik Ibrar, MNA Raja Qamar ul Islam, the Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E Mr. Zuhair M. H. Darzaid, the Lebanese Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E Mr. Ghassan Khatib, along with representatives from the NDMA, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Armed Forces.

During the ceremony, Pakistani parliamentarians underscored the critical nature of the aid amidst the ongoing turmoil in Palestine and Lebanon. They reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to aiding their “brothers and sisters in distress” and called for increased cooperation from welfare organizations and the public to bolster these efforts. Both ambassadors expressed deep gratitude towards the Government and people of Pakistan for their steadfast support and humanitarian assistance, which they described as crucial during these challenging times.

The Palestinian Ambassador highlighted the importance of Pakistan’s support as a symbol of hope and solidarity with Gaza’s pursuit of peace and justice. Similarly, the Lebanese Ambassador acknowledged the significant impact of Pakistan’s assistance on the ground, providing relief to those afflicted by the war.

Furthermore, the Government of Pakistan has established the “Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon” to gather additional public donations to support the ongoing relief efforts for those facing emergencies in these regions.
