ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, reaffirmed the country’s commitment to fostering interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence during a meeting with religious leaders in Islamabad. The minister highlighted ongoing efforts to unite religious scholars from various faiths through reactivated Interfaith Harmony Committees at multiple administrative levels.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting included discussions with Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, who underscored the responsibility of religious leaders to combat extremism and promote mutual understanding. The event also featured Dr. Leif Hetland, an international preacher and interfaith scholar, who was present to support the initiative.
