Pakistan Pledges Continued Support for Regional Dialogue and Stability

New York: Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering dialogue and stability in the Middle East, as articulated by its Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad. Speaking at a United Nations Security Council open debate on the situation in the Middle East, Ahmad emphasized the importance of restraint, dialogue, and diplomacy in addressing regional challenges.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ahmad highlighted Pakistan’s active involvement in promoting diplomatic solutions and advocating for peaceful resolutions to ongoing crises. He cited recent talks hosted in Islamabad between the United States and Iran as evidence of Pakistan’s dedication to these efforts. The ambassador expressed concern over the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, noting its global repercussions, including impacts on Pakistan.

Ahmad reiterated Pakistan’s full support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence of all states in the region. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to universal respect for international law and the pacific settlement of disputes, underscoring the nation’s role in advancing regional stability through diplomatic engagement.
