Pakistan Pledges Continued Diplomatic Efforts in US-Iran Conflict, Says Prime Minister

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to United States President Donald Trump for agreeing to extend the ceasefire with Iran, emphasizing Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to facilitating a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The extension aims to provide more time for diplomatic negotiations to progress.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister conveyed his thanks through a post on X, acknowledging both his personal appreciation and that of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir towards President Trump for his decision to prolong the ceasefire. Prime Minister Sharif underscored Pakistan’s dedication to pursuing a negotiated settlement, highlighting the trust and confidence placed in the country to mediate effectively.

Prime Minister Sharif expressed optimism that the extension of the ceasefire would allow both parties to engage constructively in the upcoming second round of talks in Islamabad. He voiced hope for the successful conclusion of a comprehensive peace agreement, marking a permanent end to the conflict.
