Pakistan People’s Party Celebrates Electoral Success in Gilgit-Baltistan Amidst Calls for Development Politics

Karachi: Karamullah Waqasi, spokesperson for the Mayor of Karachi and parliamentary leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), has extended congratulations to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the party leadership following a significant electoral victory in Gilgit-Baltistan. The success, according to Waqasi, underscores the public’s preference for politics centered on service and development over divisive approaches.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Waqasi emphasized that the election results signal a robust endorsement of the PPP’s commitment to development-oriented governance and democratic principles. He noted that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have demonstrated confidence in a political approach focused on progress and community welfare, rejecting divisive rhetoric.

Waqasi highlighted ongoing efforts in Karachi, where the PPP is addressing civic challenges through projects such as road rehabilitation, sewerage improvements, and enhancements to healthcare and municipal services. He also mentioned initiatives aimed at promoting sports and youth engagement, including the development of sports facilities across the city.

In response to recent remarks by Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, Waqasi dismissed political point-scoring and stressed that sustainable urban development requires effective planning and resource utilization. He asserted that the PPP’s practical governance measures are producing tangible progress in Karachi, which critics often overlook.

Waqasi concluded by expressing confidence in the PPP’s ability to advance development and public welfare under Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s leadership, reinforcing the party’s commitment to meeting the expectations of the populace and fostering sustainable growth and public services.
