Pakistan Opens Applications for Next Year’s Hajj Under Government Scheme

Islamabad, The process of receiving applications for next year’s Hajj under the government scheme has commenced, with designated banks accepting submissions. This development marks a significant step for Pakistani Muslims planning to undertake the sacred pilgrimage.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the application process will continue until the 12th of the next month. Applicants are required to have a passport valid till December 16, 2024, and can also submit applications using a passport application token. Approximately 89,605 Pakistanis will have the opportunity to perform Hajj under the government scheme this year.

A noteworthy aspect of this year’s Hajj application process is the provision allowing women to undertake the journey without the requirement of a male companion, a first in the history of the country’s Hajj arrangements. Should the number of applications exceed the prescribed limit, a balloting process will be conducted to select the final participants. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to facilitating the religious obligations of its citizens.
