Ormara: The Pakistan Navy has bolstered its maritime capabilities with the induction of the PNS Yamama, an offshore patrol vessel, into its fleet. The ceremony took place at the Jinnah Naval Base in Ormara, with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf serving as the chief guest.

PNS Yamama, developed in collaboration with Damen Shipyard in Romania, features advanced technological and combat capabilities. The vessel is expected to enhance the Navy’s operational reach and effectiveness, particularly along the western seaboard.

During his address at the ceremony, Admiral Ashraf highlighted the importance of a robust naval force to counter growing maritime challenges in the region. He emphasized that the inclusion of PNS Yamama reflects the Navy’s commitment to safeguarding maritime borders and promoting peace in international waters.

The Pakistan Navy reiterated its dedication to regional security, including the protection of key ports and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The newly inducted vessel is anticipated to play a crucial role in ensuring maritime security and supporting fleet operations.
