Shanghai: Pakistan has joined the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO) as a founding member, marking a significant step in its commitment to international collaboration in artificial intelligence. The agreement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in a ceremony held in Shanghai, China.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to advancing international cooperation in AI, particularly focusing on perspectives from the Global South. The ministry stressed Pakistan’s aspirations to collaborate with other WAICO member states in addressing the global AI divide and promoting equitable AI access to foster development worldwide.
