SHANGHAI: Pakistan and China have pledged to enhance their strategic partnership and deepen cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0, following a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The bilateral meeting took place in Shanghai on the sidelines of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC).
According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders reviewed the scope of Pakistan-China bilateral relations and reiterated their commitment to advancing their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. They emphasized the importance of high-quality development within the framework of CPEC 2.0 and agreed to enhance collaboration in various sectors, including trade, investment, science and technology, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence.
In addition to discussing bilateral relations, the two sides exchanged views on current regional and global developments and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination on mutual interests. The meeting underscored the ongoing strategic cooperation between Pakistan and China, highlighting their focus on innovation-driven development and emerging technologies.
