Pakistan and Portugal Explore Enhanced Cooperation in Key Sectors


ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Portugal have engaged in discussions to enhance their cooperation across multiple sectors, focusing on political engagement, trade and investment, labour mobility, and other areas of mutual interest.



According to Radio Pakistan, the fourth round of the delegation-level Pakistan-Portugal Bilateral Political Consultations took place in Islamabad, where both nations explored avenues to bolster their collaboration. The discussions covered a range of sectors including agriculture, renewable energy, information technology, education, tourism, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. The talks also highlighted opportunities for increased business-to-business engagement, port connectivity, and joint efforts in olive cultivation and processing.



The Pakistani delegation was led by Additional Secretary (Europe) Ambassador Ayesha Ali, while the Portuguese side was headed by Director-General for Foreign Policy Ambassador Helena Malcata. Both parties reiterated their commitment to maintaining regular political dialogue and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
