Pakistan Hosts 12th SCO Border Services Heads Meeting in Islamabad


ISLAMABAD: Pakistan hosted the twelfth meeting of the Heads of Border Services of the Competent Authorities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States in Islamabad. The meeting, chaired by Pakistan, included participation from Belarus, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure. The discussions focused on international border situations, joint operations, and future plans for cooperation.



According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting exchanged information and assessments about the current situation along the borders of SCO Member States and approved the results of the Joint Border Operation “Solidarity-2025.” Additionally, the plan for the upcoming Joint Border Operation “Solidarity-2026” was approved, and the Work Plan for 2027 was established. Participants also supported Tajikistan’s proposal to host the Joint Border Operation “Solidarity-2027.”



The meeting emphasized the importance of exchanging views and developing common positions on emerging challenges and threats to enhance cooperation and security among SCO Member States. The atmosphere was described as constructive and cordial, highlighting a shared commitment to strengthening border service collaboration and mutual trust.
