Pakistan High Commission in Canada Commemorates Kashmir Solidarity Day


Ottawa, The Pakistan High Commission in Ottawa, along with its consulates in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal, held a series of events to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day, aiming to shed light on the human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The day was marked by pictorial exhibitions, seminars, and documentary screenings that drew attention to the ongoing issues in the region.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the events were inaugurated by the High Commissioner of Pakistan, Zaheer A. Janjua, and attracted a significant turnout from the Pakistani diaspora. In a video message, Janjua addressed the implications of the actions taken by India on August 5, 2019, stating that these measures have no legal or political validity on the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.



He further urged the international community to intervene in stopping India’s extensive human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir. Janjua called for the rescindment of unilateral and illegal actions taken by India and the implementation of United Nations Resolutions to find a peaceful resolution to the dispute.
