Karachi: Pakistan has initiated the formation of the National Dredging and Marine Services (NDMS) company to advance local dredging capabilities, a move aimed at reducing reliance on foreign entities and achieving significant foreign exchange savings. This development is expected to ensure uninterrupted operations at Port Qasim and enhance the overall efficiency of maritime transport.
According to Radio Pakistan, the NDMS company is a collaborative venture involving the National Logistics Corporation, Karachi Port Trust, Port Qasim Authority, and Gwadar Port Authority. By establishing local dredging capacity, the initiative seeks to support the country’s ports in maintaining operational continuity and improving maritime logistics.
