Islamabad: Pakistan has condemned recent threats by the Houthi militia targeting Saudi Arabia’s commercial shipping in the Red Sea, citing concerns over regional security, navigation, and global trade. The condemnation comes amid reports of attacks on Saudi ships, escalating tensions in the region.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan views any hostile acts against its vessels or maritime interests as a serious threat to national security and reserves the right to respond in self-defense under international law. Pakistan also expressed deep concern over attempts to involve Saudi Arabia in the Middle East conflict, reaffirming its support for the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty.

Amid the growing hostilities, Pakistani officials have engaged in diplomatic efforts to encourage dialogue and de-escalation. Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni’s visit to Pakistan highlighted ongoing regional coordination, while discussions with Kuwait, Egypt, Oman, and others underscored the importance of diplomatic solutions. Pakistan remains committed to regional stability and continues its advocacy for peaceful resolutions to conflicts.
