Pakistan Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia, Calls for UN-Led Solution


New York: Pakistan has condemned recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, urging for urgent de-escalation and a UN-led political resolution in Yemen. During an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council focused on Yemen, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, emphasized Pakistan’s support for the sovereignty and security of Saudi Arabia.



According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Ahmad highlighted Pakistan’s backing of Saudi Arabia’s legitimate right to defend its territory, in alignment with the UN Charter and international law. He asserted that necessary measures should be taken to protect Saudi citizens and safeguard national assets against threats.



Ambassador Ahmad further stated that Pakistan remains committed to supporting efforts towards de-escalation, dialogue, and a comprehensive political settlement aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in Yemen and the broader region.
