Islamabad: Pakistan has condemned a recent incursion into its territory by drones launched from Afghanistan, describing it as a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The country’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, announced that Pakistan’s air defense systems successfully neutralized the drones before they reached any targets.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister detailed in a post on X that Pakistan executed precision aerial and drone strikes on ten locations in Afghanistan. These strikes targeted sites used for launching and storing drones, in response to the attempted attacks against Pakistan. Tarar emphasized that the action was a necessary exercise of Pakistan’s right to self-defense, stressing the strikes were precise and limited to military objectives directly linked to the aggression.

Tarar further criticized the Afghan Taliban regime for allowing terrorist networks to operate from Afghan soil. He stated that Pakistan has conveyed its concerns to the Afghan authorities but has instead faced hostile drone operations. He warned that any future attacks from Afghan territory would prompt an immediate response from Pakistan.

The Minister urged the Afghan Taliban to halt hostile activities and fulfill its international obligations by acting against terrorist entities. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and dialogue but emphasized that this should not be seen as a sign of weakness. Tarar assured that Pakistan would continue to protect its sovereignty and citizens against threats, with firm responses to any provocative acts by the Afghan Taliban.

In a subsequent post, Tarar shared that the retaliatory strikes had destroyed terrorist hideouts and infrastructure, including sites for launching and storing drones. He reinforced Pakistan’s resolve to defend its territorial integrity against any threats posed by terrorist proxies.
