Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation of a recent attempted drone attack on the holy site of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, highlighting the country’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia amidst ongoing regional tensions. The Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed deep sorrow and dismay over the incident and lauded the Royal Saudi Armed Forces for their prompt response. Meanwhile, Pakistan has also strengthened its diplomatic ties with Lebanon through a recent visit by the Lebanese Interior Minister, which resulted in a Memorandum of Understanding on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons between the two countries.

According to the National Assembly of Pakistan, the Pakistani government is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East, particularly the Houthi attacks, and has urged for restraint and dialogue to prevent further escalation. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and the sanctity of the Haramain Sharifain. Additionally, Pakistan’s recent diplomatic engagements include the hosting of the Lebanese Interior Minister, where bilateral relations in interior and security affairs were further solidified. An MoU was signed to allow convicted nationals to serve their sentences in their home countries, enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
