Pakistan-China Parliamentary Meeting Highlights 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations

ISLAMABAD: Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, welcomed a Chinese parliamentary delegation led by Vice Chairman of the National People’s Congress of China, Mr. Cai Dafeng, in Islamabad, reaffirming the commitment to bolstering the strategic partnership between the two nations. The meeting coincided with the ongoing celebrations of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, underscoring the enduring ties between the countries.

According to the National Assembly of Pakistan, the discussions emphasized mutual trust, support, and strategic cooperation as foundational elements of the Pakistan-China relationship. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the historic friendship and committed to enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including trade, technology, and defense. The meeting also highlighted the significance of parliamentary diplomacy and people-to-people interactions in strengthening bilateral ties.

During the session, the National Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution commemorating the milestone anniversary, expressing solidarity with China and support for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a catalyst for development and connectivity. The resolution reiterated the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering stronger relations and envisaged a future of shared peace and prosperity for the two countries.
