Pakistan-China Joint Research Centre Inaugurated at Shenyang University

Shenyang: A new chapter in Pakistan-China collaboration was marked by the inauguration of the China-Pakistan Joint Research Centre at Shenyang University of Chemical Technology (SYUCT) in Liaoning Province, China. The centre’s establishment coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and aims to enhance cooperation in research, science, technology, and higher education.

According to Press Information Department, the inauguration ceremony was attended by Khalil Hashmi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, and key Chinese officials, including Xu Guangwen of the Liaoning Provincial People’s Congress and SYUCT President Qin Gaowu. The centre’s creation follows a Document of Understanding signed between the Pakistani Embassy and SYUCT in June 2025 and a subsequent cooperation agreement with leading Pakistani institutions. The initiative is expected to promote scientific innovation, talent development, and sustainable development, while fostering knowledge-sharing and joint research.
