Pakistan Calls for Global Response to Alleged War Crimes in Palestine and Kashmir

New York: Pakistan has called on the international community to address and act against what it describes as ongoing war crimes in both Palestine and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The appeal was made during a United Nations General Assembly discussion, urging global leaders to pursue justice and accountability to end cycles of violence and oppression in these regions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during the UN General Assembly’s Sixth Committee debate on Crimes Against Humanity, Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Usman Iqbal Jadoon, emphasized the critical need to combat impunity for those accused of committing serious offenses in IIOJK and Palestine. He described crimes against humanity as one of the gravest human rights violations, which challenge the conscience of the global community.

Ambassador Jadoon expressed deep concerns about the prolonged suffering in Palestine, particularly in the context of the one-year anniversary of what he referred to as a “genocidal war” against the Palestinians. He highlighted the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, which he attributed to over seventy years of illegal occupation by Israeli forces and a general disregard for international norms and laws.

The Pakistani envoy’s statements included a call for immediate international intervention and support for the victims, citing a recent ruling by the International Court of Justice, which he claimed characterized the actions of Israeli forces as potential war crimes, crimes against humanity, and possibly genocide.
