ISLAMABAD: A United States Congressional Delegation met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday to discuss the enhancement of Pakistan-US relations through sustained parliamentary exchanges and expanded cooperation in various sectors.

According to Radio Pakistan, the delegation, which included Congressmen Ryan Zinke and Michael Baumgartner, was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Dar, who expressed optimism about the positive trajectory of relations between the two nations. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring opportunities for collaboration in trade, investment, information technology, and energy, among other sectors of mutual interest.

Both parties highlighted the importance of ongoing parliamentary exchanges as a means to foster mutual trust and reinforce the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and the United States. The congressional delegation acknowledged the significant contributions of the Pakistani diaspora to the US economy and society, describing it as a crucial link between the two countries.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional and international issues, with the Congressmen commending Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and stability.
