Pakistan and United States Commit to Strengthening Economic Ties

Washington: Pakistan and the United States have pledged to enhance their economic partnership, with a focus on increasing investment and advancing strategic projects, during a high-level meeting in Washington D.C.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent underscored Pakistan’s economic trajectory from stabilization to sustainable growth driven by exports. The discussion highlighted Pakistan’s economic challenges, including its susceptibility to regional geopolitical influences.

Minister Aurangzeb sought greater support from the United States to facilitate Pakistan’s access to international capital markets, bolster foreign exchange reserves, and improve sovereign credit ratings. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral economic cooperation and promoting increased U.S. investment in Pakistan.
