Pakistan and UAE Enhance Trade Cooperation Through Virtual Meeting


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, convened a virtual meeting with Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, to deliberate on trade cooperation and regional economic collaboration.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting included participation from Rana Ihsaan Afzal, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Secretary Commerce Jawad Paul, and senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce. The discussions underscored the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between the two nations, focusing on trade facilitation, logistical coordination, and market access enhancement.



The dialogue addressed sectors such as petroleum products, food, and other commodities of high demand, with both parties agreeing to streamline processes for exporters and traders. Minister Khan expressed appreciation for the UAE’s support and collaboration, including assistance from missions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and private sector partners like DP World.



Despite operational challenges and austerity measures in Pakistan, Minister Khan reiterated the commitment to sustaining strong trade relations. Meanwhile, Minister Al Zeyoudi reaffirmed the UAE’s dedication to Pakistan, highlighting progress in engagements and the importance of coordination for mutual benefits.



Both countries agreed on maintaining regular engagement, with teams scheduled to meet next week to discuss operational and logistical matters and explore further opportunities for bilateral trade growth. The meeting underscored a shared resolve to fortify economic collaboration and deepen the partnership.
