Pakistan and UAE Collaborate on Karachi Port Terminal Operations

Islamabad, In a significant move to bolster maritime and logistical cooperation, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to outsource operations of a key cargo terminal at Karachi Port’s East Wharf.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the agreement, which involves the outsourcing of operations at seven berths of the port, was signed between the Karachi Port Trust of Pakistan and the Abu Dhabi Ports Group of the UAE. This strategic partnership is aimed at enhancing bilateral relations in the marine and logistics sectors, marking a notable advancement in the collaboration between the two countries.

The signing ceremony was attended by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, who lauded the initiative as a testament to the growing exchanges, interactions, and cooperation between the business communities of Pakistan and the UAE. This development is expected to significantly contribute to the efficiency and capacity of cargo handling at Karachi Port, further strengthening its role in regional trade and logistics.
