Islamabad, In a recent development aimed at bolstering energy cooperation, Pakistan and Turkmenistan have reaffirmed their commitment to the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project. This decision was solidified during a meeting between Muhammad Ali, the Caretaker Minister for Power of Pakistan, and Atadjan Movlamov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions between the two officials underscored a mutual satisfaction with the progress of the TAPI gas pipeline project. The project is viewed as a significant step towards addressing Pakistan’s gas shortage, with both sides highlighting the importance of continued collaboration.
The Minister for Power emphasized Pakistan’s focus on the TAPI project as a critical component of its strategy to mitigate the country’s gas deficit. Additionally, the Turkmen Ambassador extended an invitation to the Minister to attend the Paris Road Show, an event organized by Turkmenistan to promote the TAPI project among international stakeholders.
The TAPI gas pipeline, once completed, is expected to play a vital role in the regional energy landscape, facilitating the transportation of natural gas from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan and Pakistan to India. Karachi, In a significant political event, Syed Murad Ali Shah was officially sworn in as the 38th Chief Minister of Sindh in a ceremony held at the Governor House on Tuesday, administered by Governor Sindh Kamran Tissori. The ceremony was notably attended by Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, marking a momentous occasion for the party and the province.
According to Chief Minister Sindh, the oath-taking ceremony was presided over by Chief Secretary Dr. Fakhre Alam, who announced Murad Ali Shah’s election by the Provincial Assembly on February 26. The event saw the transition of power with the presence of the outgoing caretaker Chief Minister, Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, highlighting the continuity of governance in Sindh.
